NOMAD COMMAND POST DRONE TEAM SENSORS APEX, NEXT SAME REACTOR CONCEPT. NOT TO SCALE.
01The problem

Autonomy will define future warfare. Its weak point is power.

01

Batteries

Store power but do not make it. Every one needs recharging during the fight.

02

Generators

Tie every unit to a fuel supply chain, and both the convoy and the generator become targets.

03

Fixed-site reactors

Power installations that stay behind when the force moves.

02The solution

One reactor. First on the ground, then in the vehicle.

MARCHITTO builds compact molten salt fission reactors that deploy forward and run for years without fuel.

FIRST

NOMAD

A relocatable forward power unit. It moves with the force, then powers a command post, drone teams and sensors on site. 800 kW class design target, up to 8 years between refueling, and it replaces diesel generators and the convoys that feed them.

NEXT

APEX

The same reactor inside an autonomous ground vehicle. Power and range for the systems that fight at the edge, built for an Autonomous Warfare Command. Later platforms follow on land and at sea.

Janus powers the base. We power what leaves it.

03Why now

Washington is betting on autonomy. Nothing yet powers it in the field.

Army Janus

In August 2026 the Army selected five vendors for up to $2.2B to own and operate microreactors on bases. The buyer and the authorization path now exist.

Project Agincourt

On September 30, 2026, the Department of War launched a path to an Autonomous Warfare Command by October 2027. Every platform it fields will need power and range.

The open lane

Of the 75 small reactor designs in the IAEA’s 2026 catalogue, none is built to go inside a vehicle, and the smallest molten-salt-fueled design is 24 MW electric.

China

In November 2025, China reported the world’s first thorium-to-uranium-233 conversion inside an operating molten salt reactor. The United States invented this technology at Oak Ridge.

04Technology

Proven building blocks. A clear path to thorium.

MARCHITTO builds compact molten salt fission reactors, a reactor type first proven at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 1965 to 1969, engineered to move with the force.

01

Core

Fuel is dissolved in molten salt at near-atmospheric pressure.

02

Heat exchanger

Heat moves out of the fuel loop. The fuel never leaves the capsule.

03

sCO2 turbine

A compact supercritical CO2 cycle turns heat into electricity.

04

Battery buffer

Handles peak loads and backup, so the reactor runs steady.

05Safety

TRITON: safe by design, in three stages.

Outside threats such as jamming, lost signal or power loss never shut it down. Only a danger inside the reactor does, and every stage works with no power, no signal and no person.

PLUGTANKSTAGE 1

Stop: passive drain

A frozen salt plug melts if the reactor overheats or loses cooling, and the fuel drains by gravity into a tank where the reaction cannot continue.

~1 ATMCS SR I HELD IN SALTSTAGE 2

Contain: nothing to push it out

Near-atmospheric pressure means nothing pushes radioactive material out. Cesium, strontium and iodine are largely retained in the salt, and a spill freezes solid at about 460°C.

DROP PUNCTURE FIRE WATERSTAGE 3

Protect: the TRITON capsule

An armored shell around the reactor. Design target: the NRC’s accident tests for shipping casks, including a 9-meter drop, a puncture, an 800°C fire for 30 minutes, and submersion.

Patent pending. TRITON safety architecture, US provisional 64/159,470.

06The path

Prove it on the ground. Then put it in the vehicle.

The Navy proved its first submarine reactor on land in Idaho before it went to sea. We follow the same path.

Phase 1 | 2027 to mid 2028

Prove it on the bench

Core size, shielding, salt choice and motion tests, all independently reviewed.

Worth on its own: owned IP and a verified design basis.

Phase 2 | about 2029 to 2031

Prove NOMAD on the ground

Build NOMAD and bring it to criticality. Civilian licensing and isotopes begin.

Worth on its own: our first product, powering a command post.

Phase 3 | about 2031 to 2034

Put it in the vehicle

Integrate the proven reactor into APEX and demonstrate it with the Army or Marine Corps.

Worth on its own: a path to a program of record.

Every phase creates value on its own.

07Team

The people behind the program.

Reactor physics, naval and defense engineering, and a founder who built the program before a dollar of outside capital.

Joey Marchitto

Founder and CEO

Founded MARCHITTO to finish the reactor America invented at Oak Ridge, and to put it where forces and remote communities need power most. Built the company before raising a dollar: two provisional patents filed, three technical white papers written, and a science team assembled with more than 50 years of combined reactor physics and defense experience. Leads strategy, capital and government partnerships. Third-generation defense family; his grandfather, Michael J. Marchitto, earned three Black Hawk rotor safety patents at Sikorsky.

Commercial

Clean power where the grid can’t reach.

Compact molten salt reactors that run for years without refueling. Proven first by defense, then licensed to the remote places that run on diesel today.

8 yrsBetween refueling, design target
800 kWClass design target
Phase 2Licensing opens at criticality
RELIEF SITEMINE MARCHITTOHOSPITALISLAND CONCEPT. NOT TO SCALE.
01The problem

Diesel powers the places the grid forgot.

Remote sites run on fuel that arrives by truck, barge or plane. It is expensive, it pollutes, and it fails exactly when it is needed most.

COST
Several ×

The national average power price, paid by many remote Alaska communities that run on diesel.

SUPPLY

Every gallon is shipped in

Fuel moves by road, water or air, and every delivery is a cost and a point of failure.

RESILIENCE

Disasters cut the line

When storms or floods close roads and ports, fuel stops and the power goes with it.

02Markets

One reactor. Every place the grid does not reach.

The same reactor defense proves, licensed for the places that need steady power the most.

01

Remote mines

Steady power for sites far from any grid, without the fuel convoys.

02

Island and Arctic communities

Years of power from one unit, in places where every gallon of diesel is shipped in.

03

Disaster relief

Power that arrives and stays when the grid and the fuel supply are down.

04

Medical isotopes

Mo-99 forms in the circulating fuel and can in principle be recovered while the reactor runs. Fixed sites only.

100%

Of US Mo-99 is imported.

~Half

Of the world’s Mo-99 supply is used in the US.

40,000+

US imaging procedures a day rely on it.

03Licensing

Defense proves it. Commercial scales it.

Defense funds the hardest engineering. Licensing carries the same reactor to everyone else.

STEP 1

Defense proves the reactor

Built and tested under a military program, with independent review at every phase.

STEP 2

We license the design

Partners pay an upfront fee plus royalties to build and operate it.

STEP 3

Licensees carry the NRC process

Partners license each civilian site with the NRC. Licensing opens once the reactor reaches criticality.

04Why now

Support for nuclear crosses parties.

ADVANCE Act

Passed the Senate 88 to 2 and the House 393 to 13 in July 2024, then signed into law to speed up advanced reactors.

Medical isotopes

The US uses nearly half the world’s Mo-99 and imports all of it. A domestic source is a national priority.

Thorium

Plentiful and found in the US. Our reactor is designed to turn it into new fuel over time.

China

In 2025, China became the first to run the thorium fuel cycle in a molten salt reactor, a technology America invented at Oak Ridge.

05Technology

Proven building blocks. A clear path to thorium.

A reactor type first proven at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 1965 to 1969. Fuel dissolved in salt, near-atmospheric pressure, and a clear path from HALEU to thorium.

GENERATION 1

HALEU only

A proven fuel keeps the first core simple. Phase 2, about 2029 to 2031.

GENERATION 2

HALEU plus thorium

Thorium starts making new fuel. Phase 3, about 2031 to 2034.

GENERATION 3

Mostly thorium

Thorium is plentiful and found in the US. Each generation needs less scarce HALEU. After 2034.

Dates are estimates. In every generation, the fuel stays below weapons-usable levels.
